The Joshua Tree is native to southwestern United States. They are found throughout the Mojave Desert of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona, and usually grow in 2,000-6,000 elevation. Joshua Trees are not trees at all, but actually a part of the Yucca genus and Asparagaceae family. These desert daggers provide food and safety to a variety of desert animals— some being Yucca Moths, small birds, woodpeckers, jackrabbits and kangaroo rats.
